The Poetry Brothel Los Angeles: Pantheon

  • El Cid 4212 W Sunset Blvd. Los Angeles, California 90029 (map)

Pantheon is a Greek word for a space which honors all gods.

Madam Tallula invites all lovers of Mythology to join us for our Pantheon Celebration as we invoke Aphrodite, Odin, Shiva, Poseidon, Isis, Oshun, Papa Legba, the Glow Cloud! Mythical or historical, Greek, Roman, Norse... bring it, we beseech thee!

Let every Tasty Cocktail be a Sacrament, and every Tapas Plate, a Communion. Dress in your mythic splendor, or supplicate to the bountiful infinite in your finest mortalwear, as you feel so inspired! Either way, you look divine!

Madam Tallula presents a rotating cast of poets, each operating within a carefully crafted character, who impart their work in public readings of poetry, and most distinctly, as purveyors of private, secret poetry readings on beds, chaise lounges and in private rooms. For a small fee, all of the poets are available at any time during the evening.

Of course, any true Bordello needs a good cover; ours is an immersive cabaret featuring burlesque, live music, vaudeville, aerials, visual art, magic, mysticism, with newly integrated themes, performances, and installations at each event.

On the open patio, the troupe presents Tarot readings, poetic souvenirs, live typewriter poetry, and occasional burlesque and musical performances.

The El Cid kitchen and bar will be open for dinner and drinks throughout.

The patio with its godly delights will open at 6pm. The show runs from 7pm-10pm. Themed costumes and/or vintage formalwear are encouraged but not required.
